In late December of 2025, Rahim (who runs the Wednesday) set up a few sessions for mini (one hour) papers to fill a schedule gap. I committed to one of them and then promptly forgot about it. He reminded me a week or two before the session was set to transpire, so I whipped up this short essay comparing a children’s book called The Giver to some shortcomings I found with Maslow’s Hierarchy. It is not the best thing I have written, and not of quality to be featured in publication, but since I did put a bit of short-term effort into it, I decided to share. I gave this for the second half of the session on 31st December 2025 (NYE).
